New version of the Hungarian language module
Publish date: 2026. 10. 4.
Dear friends and users of the RHVoice Hungarian beta language module,
After a long wait, we have some good news: today we released new, retrained versions of the Imre, Anna and Katalin Hungarian voices.
What has changed?
- Updated emoji pronunciation to the latest version supported by the RHVoice core.
- Ported all Hungarian pronunciation rules and exceptions from eSpeak NG, making Hungarian text sound more natural.
- Added correct reading of dates, times, decimal numbers and ordinal numbers.
- Fixed spelling in all three voices. Short and long Hungarian vowels are now pronounced correctly when spelling out text.
This is a short list, but there are many changes under the hood for you to test. If no bugs arise during the testing period, we will publish this version as a final release, together with the source code.
Android application update
We have also updated the beta Android application. It now supports Android Direct Boot, allowing RHVoice to speak on the lock screen after a restart, before the phone is unlocked for the first time.
You can download the voices from the download page.
